Summary

In collaboration with Organic's Creative Director, I was tasked with creating a style guide and website homepage to facilitate Organic in supporting the inaugural season of the W Series. The objective was to produce a production-ready style that would empower other designers to seamlessly generate the remaining assets for their client.

My role

I was tasked with creating concepts, homepage designs, brand style, layout, and functional features for the website homepage. This included developing responsive designs, incorporating animated hero sections showcasing featured stories, designing the latest news sections, featuring drivers, leaderboards, and team results. I delivered final designs tailored for both mobile and desktop breakpoints.

The challenge

Given the distinctive nature of the W Series, its brand was in a constant state of evolution. Organic provided daily discoveries necessitated a keen assessment of the brand's reception among audiences, prompting ongoing adjustments to meet their evolving needs and preferences. Organic worked agile in their approach and I was pulled in early to provide concepts that would later inform the final website.

Solution

The initial emphasis was placed on standardising the fundamental design and layout elements across the entire site using my designs as a benchmark.

Subsequently, Organic’s attention shifted towards striking a delicate balance between integrating essential functionalities and upholding the foundational principles of user experience, design, and development.

Organic meticulously incorporated SEO strategies to guarantee that all URLs, pages, headers, and titles were optimised for search engines – crucial given the emergence of W Series as a new brand, necessitating heightened visibility and ranking on search engines.

Impact and outcome

A single-domain website with integrated SEO capabilities, catering to diverse audiences and encapsulating the evolutionary journey of the W Series brand.

Furthermore, a user-friendly backend CMS was implemented by Organic to empower the W Series team with autonomy over their content, facilitating efficient management and ownership of their digital presence.
